Autumn at the Arboretum: Dallas, Texas
During the fall, the Dallas Arboretum is transformed into a breathtakingly beautiful show of color. Between the 4,500 fall-colored Chrysanthemums and internationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, you won’t know where to look. It runs from September 23–November 22, and requires an admission fee for entrance.
Punkin Chunkin: Nassau, Delaware
If you’re looking for a truly unique festival, head to Delaware for the World Championship Punkin Chunkin. From November 3–5, you’ll spend the weekend watching a pumpkin launching competition, enjoying live music, and tasting delectable seasonal fare. Tickets are required and vary in price from a spectator, to camping access, and VIP level.
Cranberry Harvest Festival: Wareham, Massachusetts
Cranberries are both a fall and New England staple. This festival, which runs from October 7–8, features bogside demonstrations, cooking classes, multiple crafters, paddleboat rides on nearby Tihonet Pond, food vendors, and live music. Admission is $10 and covers select activities, but others require an additional fee or donation to local nonprofit organizations.
Sonoma County Harvest Fair: Santa Rosa, California
If you’re a food and wine connoisseur, then this festival is for you. The Sonoma County Harvest Fair showcases the counties grand harvest. From October 6–8, your palette will experience an unforgettable treat. Whether you’re indulging at the Grand Harvest Tasting Pavilion or shopping around at the Wine County Marketplace, you won’t leave hungry. Gate admission is $10 with an extra cost for additional activities.
Bayfield Apple Festival: Bayfield, Wisconsin
Renowned as one of “The Best 10 Fall Festivals,” the Bayfield Apple Festival—from October 6–8—doesn’t disappoint. Located on the tranquil shores of Lake Superior, this festival boasts small-town charm, over 60 booths of apple treats, a grand parade, and family fun for all. The best part? Admission is free!
